I’ve never been in to komic books, but this Hawkeye Initiative thing is pretty amazing. It’s for a good kause (and an important social one, I think), but I know it has the potential to become a homophobic or transmisogynistic brand of humor. However, I find it empowering as a straight cis-man because it says to me that male kharacters kan be drawn the same way female kharacters usually are: it doesn’t make it less ridiculous, but it’s sort of liberating.
As a kosplayer, I think that anyone should be allowed to be any kharacter that they want, and that “bad kosplay” is something that only really happens if your heart isn’t in it and/or you have a bad attitude. I’ve done kostumes of a number of video game kharacters, and all of them are kharacters I like from games that I love, and I feel like I’ve formed a special bond with them through this sort of kreative expression. This is not the kase for this one. :>
I’ve never read a Marvel komic in my life, I only know who Hawkeye is because of the 2012 blockbuster film, and I’m probably just doing this to get your attention. <3

Turns out that I’m less flexible than the average komic book lady D: I’ll keep working on that one!
If you’re going to Emerald City Komic Kon, I hope to see you there!! :>
